(a) 2 closes out and 1 attacks until a stop or score. The next group starts before play is over.

Variations

- 2 follows the pass to 1 for a hand-off, then 1 defends 2
- 3 is a help defender in the lane if the attacker beats the defender on the dribble.

(b) 2 is a help defender on 3, and bumps the cutter to deny a flash to the ball. 1 can pass to 3 or shoot (2 boxes out 3).

Options

- 3 then posts up low
- 3 stays on the weakside, 1 shoots, 2 boxes out (see 3-man weave to block-out), or 1 skip passes to 3
- 3 gets open for a pass in any way, then attacks against 2.

(c) 2 is a help defender on 3. 1 drives, and 2 comes over to take a charge.

Option - 2 helps and recovers as 1 drives then passes to 3.
