Reading and using ballscreens. See Offence - Bill Self ballscreen.

a) Go

Foot first then the ball, work from high to low, put your shoulder on the screener's hip.

b) Hesitate and go

If soft hedge and recover, hesitate and go, take 1-2 dribbles past the screen and shoot. Remember to go downhill and get in the paint, not too deep.

c) Split the screen

Split if the hedge defender over-runs the screen.

Split early if your defender forces you to use the screen.

d) Fake the split

Use an inside-out dribble to freeze the hedge defender.

e) Reject

If your defender does not allow you to use the screen (defensively this is called Blue), fake at the screen and drive hard opposite.

f) Attack the Blue call

Your defender forces you down to the big, after one dribble baseline try to crossover and drive middle forcing the big to step up. Tony Parker does this a number of times per game against a Blue call.

g) Re-screen

If the defender gets over the ballscreen, the screener just turns and gets you again, you bring it back off the screen.

h) Drag to a pass back or Buna fist

Drag the defensive hedge or trap hard toward midcourt, dragging the screen defender away from his man, stretching the defence to create good spacing and bad defensive rotation.

i) Defender goes under

Attack the screen and shoot behind it, the screener buries your defender with a reverse-pivot butt screen.
