Perkins post options

Post scoring options that lead into the open-post set (see Offence - Perkins open-post).

a) Sonic

5 steps out for a pass, 1 screens for 4 then goes to the wing.

The ball is swung to 1, 3 and 2 stagger backscreen for 5.

If there is no play, 5 clears to the ballside corner, 3 and 2 get to the weakside wing and corner, into open-post.

b) Drop

Post up a smaller player.

4 screens for 3, who curls to the block, 4 steps out for a pass from 1, who cuts to the weakside corner, 5 goes out top.

4 looks to feed 3 posting, if it's not there, 3 clears to the corner into the offence.

c) Bang

1 dribbles to the wing, pushing 3 to the corner, 5 downscreens for 4 who comes high.

1 passes to 4 who looks for a high-low pass to 5, who clears to the corner if it's not there.

d) Hawk

A little-big screen, take advantage of a mismatch if defenders switch.

1 dribbles to the right wing, 2 screens for 5 who curls and posts, 2 pops out, 4 lifts to the weakside wing, 5 clears to the weakside corner if not open after a two-count.

e) Lob

Usually ends up in a score.

1 comes off 5's ballscreen to the left wing, 4 cuts through and brush screens for 2 (accidental contact) then keeps going, 2 screens for 5.

5 comes off 2's screen looking for a lob pass as 3 lifts out of the corner, 5 clears if there is no play.
