Offence
Seth Greenberg slice

sketch
1
Seth Greenberg

The first big runs to the block, the second big runs trail, 3 runs wide foul-line extended, 2 tries to run to the rim but ends up in the corner. If 1 can't pitch ahead when he reaches the hashmark in his backcourt, he takes the ball on a 45 to the other side of the floor to move the defence, the trailer goes behind 1 to change sides.

Every time you screen, shape and look for the ball.

Whatever offence you run, does it put you into position to offensive rebound.

Make a play out of a play.

See Bill Self high-low motion, LSU fast break.

5 gets ballside on a pass to 3, get the ball inside otherwise they really like to skip it, 5 searches across the lane.

Option - 1 just hits the trailer.

sketch
3
2 creates a lead for a pass, 5 posts hard, 1 widens out, 3 walks his man down, 4 screens for him.

sketch
4
2 passes to 3, 1 has to get open, 3 passes to 1 and sprints straight to the corner (the slice action) for a triangle.

sketch
5
4 posts for a second, if he doesn't get it he cross-screens for 5, who curls over the top, then 4 comes out to the high post.

sketch
6
If 1 passes to the low post, 3 cuts hard to the other corner, 4 dives, 1 screens at the elbow for 2.

sketch
7
On ball reversal to 4, look for a high-low, then 5 steps up off the top hashmark, 1 comes off hard and posts up.

If X1 starts to go under the screen, 1 uses a downscreen from 4. If 4 is denied he backcuts. See below.

sketch
8
On a pass to 2, 3 walks his man down and comes hard off a stagger by 5 and 4.

If 2 is denied, 4 dribble hand-offs with 3, see below.

sketch
9
2 is a better shooter than 1, so 1 steps out to backscreen then steps out, 2 comes off a 5-4 stagger, 5 screens then lifts so 4 can slip to the rim if X4 shows.

See Argentina flex.

sketch

If 3 is a good one-on-one player, 2 passes and gets wide, 1 uses the stagger, 3 drives the gap.

Situations

Five

If 4 is denied at the top he takes one step out then backcuts, 2 fills (this is automatic, not a call).

sketch
12
1 passes to 2, 3 curls to foul-line extended on the other side, 2 passes to 3 and slices to the corner, 4 cross-screens for 5 then comes high into the offence.

sketch
13
Bump

1 passes to 4, X1 starts taking away the cut lowside, they bump, 5 turns, rolls and pins X1, 4 downscreens for 1, 5 follows the ball

Dribble hand-off

Anytime they can't reverse the ball from the high post to the wing, they automatically dribble hand-off back the other way.

4 dribbles right at X3, 3 comes off hard and doesn't pick up his dribble until ready to pass. 2 cuts using 1, 5 and 4, 1 steps out, 5 lifts (or 1 uses 5 and 4). 3 can shoot a pull-up at the top.

sketch
15
Floppy pressure release (or use 1-4)

2 and 3 are on the blocks, the player on the right screens for the guy on the left then the posts pin down.

sketch
16
If 2 and 3 are denied on the wings, the posts automatically wedge and come back to the ball. On a pass to 5, 3 backcuts and posts, 1 banana cuts wide (5 can fake a hand-off), 2 walks his man down, 4 pins down.

The wings must be above the posts so that their man has to turn his head to see the ball on the pass to 5.

sketch
17
5 drives at 2 so that 2 has a gap to drive after the hand-off, then 4 and 5 stagger for 3, the first screener lifts. 3 comes off the stagger, or could go get 1. 2 back dribbles to open up the court if he can't turn the corner.
