Fast break

    • cutter - reject, curl (tight, soft), pop, fade

    • passer - relocate, Laker cut or post split (screen away)

Press break

• Basic
  • Point guard - sideline outlet position (not coffin corner)
  • Meet a pass, face upcourt, strong pivot, sweep and rip (ball tough), attack on the dribble
  • Inbounder - clear the backboard, trail ballside (reversal option) or clear out against man pressure
• Intermediate
  • Point guard
    • fake outside & attack middle
    • overplay - banana cut, back cut, spin and back cut
  • Secondary receivers if point guard taken away
  • Player in the middle of the press
  • Full ball reversal
  • Avoid trapping areas, pass before a trap can be set
  • Pass fake
  • Pass-pass after a trap

  • Inbounder - run the baseline (made basket), look deep
